TIR is the abbreviation of the international road transport system, which is an international cargo transportation customs clearance system established on the basis of the United Nations "International Road Transport Convention". Vehicles holding TIR certificates can conveniently pass customs between contracting states, with "one declaration, one vehicle direct access" throughout the whole process, effectively reducing the time for cargo transshipment and tallying at the port, and reducing corporate transportation costs. At present, the "International Road Transport Convention" has 78 contracting states in the world, basically covering all countries in the "Silk Road Economic Belt".
With the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" to achieve higher quality and higher level of development, TIR international road transport has provided more abundant and diverse logistics options for cross-border trade. At a time when the global economy is deeply integrated and trade exchanges are becoming more frequent, it has become the "fourth logistics channel" in addition to aviation, railways and sea transportation.
