On April 4, the "Invest in China" UK Promotion Conference was successfully held in London. The Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the Investment Department of the UK Department of Business and Trade, the China-Britain Business Council, and 48 British groups attended the event and delivered speeches. The event received great attention from the British political and business circles, and more than 300 representatives from Chinese and British government agencies, enterprises, and business associations participated in the event. The willingness of the British political and business circles to invest and cooperate with China has significantly increased.
In 2024, the UK will be the largest European country investing in China and the second largest destination for Chinese investment in Europe. The British side stated that since last year, the economic and trade relations between the UK and China have accelerated, and the prospects for investment cooperation are broad. The British side firmly opposes the US's imposition of "reciprocal tariffs", firmly supports free trade, and is willing to work with China to jointly promote investment liberalization and facilitation.
