WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala issued a statement on the 11th saying that the China-US high-level economic and trade talks held in Geneva, Switzerland marked an important step forward and were of great significance to the world.

The China-US high-level economic and trade talks were held in Geneva from May 10 to 11. China and the United States agreed to establish an economic and trade consultation mechanism to maintain communication on their respective concerns in the economic and trade fields.
