High-quality baby clothes require scientific care to maintain their softness, elasticity, and luster over time. Given the different properties of bamboo-spandex, cotton, and Tencel, we provide the following care guidelines:
General Principles:
Wash new clothes before first wear: Use neutral detergent.
Separate lights and darks: Avoid color transfer.
Check the label: Follow the care symbols on the garment.
Material-Specific Care Points:
1. Bamboo-Spandex Clothing:
Machine Wash/Hand Wash: Both are acceptable. Recommended to use the gentle or delicate cycle of the washing machine; using a mesh laundry bag is even better.
Detergent: Use neutral detergent. Avoid chlorine bleach.
Water Temperature: Cold water or warm water below 30°C. Avoid high temperatures that can damage the spandex elasticity.
Drying & Air-Drying: Low-speed, short spin cycle. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. Air dry flat or hang in a well-ventilated, shaded area to prevent fiber hardening. Can be ironed at low temperature.
2. Cotton Clothing:
Machine Wash/Hand Wash: Very washable, can be machine washed. To maintain softness, hand washing is also an option.
Detergent: Neutral detergent. A small amount of baby fabric softener can be used (optional) to maintain fluffiness.
Water Temperature: Can be selected based on soil level, but avoid using excessively high temperatures (e.g., >60°C) to prevent accelerated fiber aging and shrinkage.
Drying & Air-Drying: Normal spin is fine. Best to air dry in sunlight; UV rays have natural disinfecting properties. Iron at medium temperature.
3. Tencel Clothing:
Machine Wash/Hand Wash: Hand wash recommended, or use the gentle cycle of the washing machine. Avoid vigorous rubbing or wringing.
Detergent: Must use neutral detergent. Avoid fabric softeners (they can clog fiber pores and affect absorbency).
Water Temperature: Wash in cold water or warm water below 30°C.
Drying & Air-Drying: Do not wring forcefully. Gently press out excess water with a dry towel, then air dry flat in a shaded area. Never expose to direct sunlight, as it can make fibers brittle. Reshape while slightly damp. Can be ironed at medium temperature on the reverse side.
